How you can help
This year has seen a huge increase in the number of dogs coming into rescue. All small rescues are struggling to cope with the sheer volume of dogs. Here are some of the ways that you can help us with our mission to save the lives of Britain’s unwanted dogs.
Donations
We are constantly struggling to provide the best care for the unfortunate dogs that we try to find loving homes for.
We are now a registered charity. We rely entirely upon donations from the public in order to fund our work. Each kennels costs on average a minimum of £12.00 per day to accommodate the dogs. This is to cover food, vet bills, heating costs, staff costs and any additional requirements the dogs have. Without us and donations from the caring public, these dogs would have had nowhere to go!
The operation has grown so much over the last 2 years, we need every penny to help us to continue and expand.
We would be extremely grateful for any donations to help with our rescue centre, no matter how large or small. Every penny goes directly to the dogs!
We can accept cheques or postal orders made out to Whitehall Dog Rescue and forwarded to Whitehall Dog Rescue, Greenacres Farm, Cave Lane, East Ardsley, Wakefield WF3 2BB
We can now also accept both Debit & Credit cards. Simply click on one of the links below to donate.
Volunteering
Whitehall is currently struggling to cope with the rising numbers of rescue dogs. We desperately need dedicated, hardworking volunteers. Could you spare a few hours to help us? There are many roles within the rescue that we need help with. If you are interested in helping us in our quest to save dogs, please click on the VOLUNTEER PAGE and fill out the application form. We look forward to welcoming you to the team.
Sponsor a Dog
Whitehall has many dogs that have now joined the permanent residents club.
These are dogs that for one reason or another are unrehomable. This normally happens because the dog is too traumatised to be rehabilitated to live in a home or has severe medical conditions. Sometimes it happens simply because no one came for them and they have been with us so long now that it would be cruel to re home them. Most of these dogs are elderly or infirm and Whitehall is now their home. Can you help to pay for these dogs up keep by sponsoring one of them from as little as £1 per week. If you are interested in our Sponsor A Dog Scheme please click this link.
Fundraising

Could you organise a raffle or fundraiser to help us with our mounting vet fees. To find out about joining the fundraising team or ways in which you can raise money please contact Sarah at sarah.d28@btinternet.com who will be happy to send you out a fundraising pack.
Urgent Food Donations
The recession has caused numerous problems for the rescue with more dogs than ever coming through the gates of Whitehall. Rehoming is very slow and our food donations have massively dropped. With more hungry mouths to feed we urgently need donations of quality dog food:-
Butchers Tinned Food
Chappie Tinned Food
Pedigree Chum Puppy Tinned Food
Dental Sticks
Rawhide Chews
General Dog Treats
If you feel you can help by donating any of the following please drop outside the rescue or call Brian on 07831421715 to arrange details.
